It’s hard to claim authority over your own life.  So many people, traditions and circumstances want to direct it.  They scream, whisper or manipulate.

But who are you?

What do you love?

When your song is over, what do you want the rhythm to have been? What do you want the lyrics to have inspired? What feelings or responses do your want your one life to evoke?

God created us with wild dreams, idiosyncrasies, passions and gifts. They begin to get covered up with layer after layer of roles put on us that we were never meant to play. Roles that we don’t even enjoy but roles that we have become accustom to – they become habit.

Take a moment from the noise and busyness. Write down those wild dreams that might be a little dusty. Dig into your mind and soul. Search and pray for those passions that lie dormant. Own your idiosyncrasies.  When you do this, the gifts will be unwrapped and so many will be able to enjoy. You will be who God intended you to be.
